New progress made in cultivation of plant varieties

National Science and Technology Supporting Program (Agriculture) makes great strides in exploitation of agricultural genetic resources and innovation as well as utilization of germplasm.

Now, there has been a batch of new germplasms of plants, which speeds up the cultivation of the new varieties of plants.

Among them, 82 new varieties of hybrid rice, 44 of wheat, 25 of corn and 13 of cotton were examined and approved. All of those new varieties have been applied to agricultural production and lay a solid foundation for the sound development of agricultural industry. [Chinese version is available on MOST.gov.cn]
