Three Guizhou products receive EU geographical indication recognition

According to the Research Center of Geographical Indication of the Guizhou Provincial Academy of Social Sciences Research, three local Guizhou products – Moutai, Duobei Tea and black glutinous rice wine – have been recorded in the China-EU Geographical Indication Mutual Recognition List. From now on, the three Guizhou products will be recognized and protected by European Union countries.

The geographical indication recognition is a guarantee of quality, specialty and honor in European Union member countries.

Recognition by the EU geographical indication is an honorable thing. It means that such products can get similar awareness with local European products among European customers.

What's more, after recognition, the European Union will provide protection for the recognized products, as well as their trademarks.

Should any infringement and counterfeit be found, the European Union will pursue action.
