Bragi, the German technology company, has filed a lawsuit against OnePlus, the Shenzhen-based Chinese smartphone manufacturer.

OnePlus had earlier tried to trademark the Dash Charge brand in the United States and Europe, but had been prevented from doing so with the bid being rejected by the US Patent and Trademark Office as well as the EU’s Intellectual Property Office.

Bragi had already trademarked the word “Dash” for its Dash Charger case that tops up its wireless earphones. With the lawsuit, Bragi has claimed that OnePlus is intentionally confusing consumers with the Dash Charge feature in its phones.

Since then, OnePlus has already launched a software update for its smartphones, replacing the “Dash Charging” toast with “Fast Charging”.

Moreover, it was earlier reported that OnePlus had already filed the trademark for “Warp Charge” in July. Therefore, it is unlikely that the lawsuit will have a substantial impact on OnePlus.
