CCTV's broadcasting rights

Due to the International Olympic Committee's regulations on the broadcasting of Olympic events, China Central Television's rights only extend to the Chinese mainland. This means none of the CCTV international channels will be able to broadcast the opening and closing ceremonies, or any of the live events, from the 2008 Olympic Games.

During this period, CCTV International will broadcast a selection of news, information, features, interviews, and entertainment programs on the Olympics, all in strict observance of the IOC's copyright rules.

CCTV.com's broadcasting rights

Due to IOC's broadcasting regulations, only netizens in China mainland and Macau can access videos related to Beijing 2008 Olympic Games via CCTV.com.

It's recommended that viewers and netizens overseas watch Olympic events via local RHBs TV networks and their Internet platforms. (e.g. Viewers and netizens in the U.S. can watch Olympic events via NBC's TV networks and its webcast)

CCTV.com will do its best to, in the timeliest manner, deliver Games-related information with news reports featuring rich texts and photos to every netizen for their support and attention given to CCTV.com.
